In addition to her swimming and studies, she has been active in USA Swimming as a Student-Athlete Representative and has shown great leadership in her church and high school. She, too, is very versatile and can swim all strokes and can swim them all well. She has the whole package: great swimming, superior academics, and model citizenship. She will help us immediately next year and we are very fortunate to have her.

She will really make big drops in her times, as she improves her strength and fitness levels in college. She has not had a long career in swimming, and really has not uncovered her true potential. She is a very athletic young lady, and will be a great addition to our freestyle group. She also is a very accomplished vocal performer.

She has all the tools to be a dominant distance specialist in our conference and on the national level. She has endurance and speed, which is a rare combination. A good student, Michelle is a very friendly and easy-going young lady, except when she is racing.

The neat thing is that she is going to get better and better as she hones her technique and gets stronger and fitter. I expect Aleesha to make her mark at BYU immediately and has shown that she has the talent and desire to really help us at NCAA’s. A huge get for BYU.
