Head Swim Coach, Men's & Women'sOne of the most successful coaches in the history of Centennial Conference (CC) swimming, Rueppel has led the men's and women's swimming programs to eight CC Championships (out of a possible 16) in eight seasons.
During his time at Franklin & Marshall, Rueppel has guided the swim teams to new heights. Highlights of his tenure include: Scholar All-American Honors in seven consecutive years; 45 individual athletes named to CC Academic Honor Roll; eight CC Championships; set 83 school records; set 55 CC records; 124 individual or relay CC Champions; 34 Division III All-Americans; Five CC Championship Meet Outstanding Performers; 3 National Champions.
Rueppel came to F&M in the summer of 2001 from Wittenberg University in Ohio. While at Wittenberg University he coached eight swimmers, including four men and four women, to the NCAA Division III National meets in March 2001. All eight made at least honorable mention All-America status as the women amassed a point total of 36 and the men posted 33 points for one of Wittenberg's best finishes ever.
Between his years at Wittenberg and F&M, Rueppel has coached 67 NCAA Division III All-Americans.
Before coaching at Wittenberg, Rueppel was the head age group coach and assistant men's and women's swim coach at Wright State University and the Dayton Raiders Swim Club (1989-1995).
Rueppel began his coaching career as the head women's coach at his alma mater, St. Bonaventure University (1983 to 1989). While at St. Bonaventure, he compiled a 42-18 dual meet record for the Division I Bonnies and served as a member of the Athletic Advisory Board from 1985 through 1986.
Rueppel received his bachelor of arts degree from St. Bonaventure in 1983. He, his wife, Anne, and daughters, Katie and Colleen, live in Manheim Township.

Godfrey, Patrick
Assistant Swim Coach/Aquatics DirectorA two-time team captain for the Diplomats, Godfrey joins the staff full time for the 2009-2010 season. Godfrey was a volunteer coach in 2008-09 helping to guide the Diplomats’ men’s team to a seventh Centennial Conference Championship, while assisting in leading a young women’s team to a second place finish.
Academic and swimming successes have been constant partners to Godfrey. The Springboro, Ohio native graduated F&M summa cum laude in 2006. Godfrey earned his degree in Government and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Godfrey went onto The Ohio State University’s Michael E. Moritz College of Law, earning his J.D. in the spring of 2009.
Aside from being a captain, Godfrey was a standout swimmer, twice earning the team’s McGinness Award. He was an 11-time Centennial Conference Championship Finalist in the butterfly and mid-distance freestyle. Godfrey was a two-time All-Centennial Conference performer and three-time member of the Conference’s Academic Honor Roll.
