Incredible freshman season capped off by swimming to honorable mention All-America status in the 200 backstroke, finishing 16th with a time of 1:56.19. That followed strong preliminary time of 1:54.88 ... Also competed in the 200 IM (2:01.78, preliminary) and 400 IM (4:15.03, preliminary) at NCAA's. Was the only Nittany Lion to qualify for the NCAA Championships ... Overall, swam to 21 "NCAA B" times to lead the team. Also broke three pool records and a school record ... Career best time in the 200 backstroke (1:54.02) in the Last Chance Meet. That time also marked a Penn State program record ... Strong showing at the Big Ten Championships - finishing seventh in the 200 backstroke (1:56.62, preliminary), 13th in the 200 IM (2:01.51), seventh in the 400 IM (4:15.13, preliminary) and seventh in the 800 medley relay (7:15.21) ... Posted career best times in the 1000 freestyle (10:07.32) and 100 backstroke (56.20) at Ohio State (1/30), finishing second and third, respectively. Also finished first in the 200 backstroke (1:57.65), second in the 200 IM (2:02.49) and seventh in the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.14) ... Swam to a Trees Pool record time at the Pittsburgh Quad Meet (1/16), winning the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.49. Also finished first in the 200 IM (2:04.44) and 400 IM (4:18.14), second in the 400 medley relay (3:50.09) and third in the 100 backstroke (56.84) ... Named National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week and Big Ten Women's Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 19 following record-setting effort ... Strong at the Ohio State Invitational (12/4-6), finishing first in the 200 backstroke (1:57.12), fourth in the 400 IM (4:17.94, preliminary), fifth in the 800 freestyle relay (7:28.51), sixth in the 100 backstroke (56.63), seventh in the 400 medley relay (3:50.20) and 15th in the 500 freestyle (4:53.58, preliminary) ... Facing Virginia in first ever home meet, won the 400 IM with a pool-record time of 4:18.23 while placing second in the 200 IM (2:03.22) and 200 backstroke (1:56.88), third in the 400 medley relay (3:48.13) and fifth in the 1000 freestyle (10:09.92) ... Strong showing at Virginia Tech (10/31) was highlighted by an NCAA 'B' Time and pool record in the 200 backstroke (1:58.89). Also finished first in the 100 backstroke (56.92) and 200 IM (2:06.94) ... 2009-10 UPDATE (AS OF NOV. 13) • Stellar start to freshman career includes first-place finishes in six of seven races while finishing second in the other. • Strong showing at Virginia Tech (10/31) was highlighted by an NCAA 'B' Time and pool record in the 200 backstroke (1:58.89). Also finished first in the 100 backstroke (56.92) and 200 IM (2:06.94). • Won both events against West Virginia/Colgate (10/24): 200 backstroke (2:00.41) and 400 IM (4:23.22). • Opened collegiate career at St. Bonaventure (10/13) with first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:03.91) and second in the 400 IM (4:31.54). A five-star recruit by Swimming World Magazine ... Three time state champion, in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 500 freestyle ... Was a three-time Olympic Trial qualifier - in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back ... Placed 21st in the 200 backstroke at the 2008 trials ...
