In their final home meet of 2015-16, the Colorado State University-Pueblo swimming & diving team could not claw their way past the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers in a narrow 110-89 loss. Despite a late rally, The Pack now sit 1-3 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference duals.

Celebrating her senior day, Emily Foster (Sr., Santa Barbara, Calif.) won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.80. Foster earned nine points for her win. She also swam the second leg of the Pack's 200 yard medley relay team that set a school record with a time of 1:53.41. Arianna Rohde (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska), Magdalena Contreras-Gomez (So., San Luis Potosi, Mexico), and Samantha Sannes (So. Torrance, Calif.)all contributed to this record setting relay swim.

Sannes returned to the pool moments later to win the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:04.27. She has won the 1,000 free at both pack home meets this season.

With Foster's win, the 100 breaststroke proved to be one of the Pack's biggest events as the ThunderWolves swept the medal spots. Malin Wallmon (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) took second with a time of 1:16.65. Clarissa Gardella (Jr. Bakersfield, Calif.)finished in third place (1:19.21).

April McDonough (So., Frisco, Texas) led the Pack in a sweep of the top-three places in the 500 yard freestyle. The reigning RMAC Swimmer of the Week touched the wall first with a time of 5:43.18. Freshman, Rachel Leach (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.)placed second, finishing 16 seconds behind McDonough. Deanna Harrison (So. Orlando, Fla.) touched the wall in third place.

In the meet's final event, the Pack claimed their third sweep of the night in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Jade Irick (Fr., Idaho Falls, Idaho) joined Gardella, Sannes, and McDonough to claim first place with a 3:56.23.

The Pack scored 48 points in the final three events. Despite the ThunderWolves' late rally, the Orediggers early advantage allowed them pull away with the 110-89 win.

CSU-Pueblo will return to the pool Jan. 15-17 when they compete at the Colorado College Classic.
