UNLV Swept by Arizona State

The UNLV swimming and diving teams suffered a second road loss to start the season on Saturday, as the Rebel women scored 117 compared to ASU's 181, while the men suffered a 202-95 defeat.

In the women's competition, Lina Rathsack earned the first win for UNLV of the meet in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.53. Kimberly Hendrick followed not long after with a first-place showing in the 200 fly (2:05.31). Rathsack later swam a 2:17.60 in the 200 breast to claim her second win of the day.

The men's 50 free would be the lone event won by the Rebels, thanks to Dillon Virva's time of 20.46. The relay team of Virva, Kasey Foley, Dylan Tarazona, and Forest Beesley exhibited a performance consistent with their previous meet, as they claimed first in the 200 free (1:21.30).

On the diving side, the Rebel women pulled up just short in the 1 and 3-meter, as Alyssa Arnett, Mykayla Fielding, and Shelby Steiger placing second, third, and fourth in both events. Lucas James was third for the men's squad on both boards as well.

The Rebels are back in action on Friday, Nov. 6 in Provo, Utah facing BYU.
