Liberty Women Sweep Incarnate Word, TCU

Liberty earned a pair of victories on Friday at TCU’s University Recreation Center. The Lady Flames defeated the host TCU Horned Frogs, 130.5-112.5, while doubling Incarnate Word’s score, 162-81.
        
The Lady Flames improve to 3-2 on the season after winning in their first-ever meeting with a Big 12 program. TCU’s record stands at 1-1, as the Horned Frogs defeated UIW (0-2) head-to-head, 144-99.
        
Reigning CCSA Women’s Diver of the Week Brooke Fox broke two program records on Friday, in the one-meter springboard (236.93) and three-meter springboard (212.10) diving events.
        
Liberty earned six event victories, including five individual events and the 200 free relay. Chelsea Pond (50 free), Alicia Finnigan (100 fly), Kendall Hough (100 free), Victoria Tschoke (100 back) and Prudence Rooker (100 individual medley) picked up individual event victories on Friday.
        
Pond swam 24.34 to win the 50 free, while Hough followed in second with a time of 24.35. Ricki Lee Hodges clocked 24.63 for fifth place.
        
Finnigan turned in a season-best 56.66 during her victorious 100 fly swim. Ashley Mauzy finished in a tie for fourth at 58.19.
        
Hough’s 52.33 gave the senior the win at 100 free, as teammate Pond touched second in 52.43.
        
Tschoke earned the 100 back victory in 56.77, as Hough took second with a 57.94 effort.
        
Rooker clocked 57.76 during the 100 IM, taking first place. Dickinson’s 59.71 was good for third.
        
The Lady Flames won the meet-ending 200 free relay, as Liberty’s quartet of Ashlee Sall, Hodges, Pond and Rachel Hoeve swam 1:36.79.
        
Brooke Fox placed seventh in one-meter diving with her program record-breaking 236.93. She broke the record of 228.67, previously held by her sister Courtney Fox, who earned eighth with a score of 231.74 on Friday.
        
The freshman later finished seventh in three-meter diving in a program-best 212.10. Her score bested Madi Long’s previous record of 201.00. Courtney Fox took ninth in three-meter diving in 172.72.
        
Kristin VanDeventer earned second place in the 500 free, swimming, 5:05.11. Sall swam 5:10.99 for fourth, while Hannah Wakeley (5:11.43) placed fifth.
        
Rooker swam 2:05.92 for second in the 200 IM. Tschoke clocked 2:07.57 to claim fourth position.
        
Elizabeth Magnusson placed third in the 200 free with a 1:55.20 clocking. Sall (1:55.37) and VanDeventer (1:55.57) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
        
Liberty’s 200 medley relay of Tschoke, Dickinson, Natalie Beale and Hodges took second in 1:47.77.
        
The Lady Flames remain in the Lone Star State, traveling to Denton, Texas. Liberty will compete in a tri-meet hosted by North Texas. The meet, which also features CCSA foe Incarnate Word, is scheduled to begin at noon Eastern.
