Gannon Announces Schedule

Gannon has announced the 2015-16 women's and men's swimming schedule. The slate includes two home meets and eight road events during the regular season.

Gannon fans will only have two opportunities to see the Golden Knights in action at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Pool. The first home meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 against Tiffin, beginning at 12 noon. The only other chance to watch the Golden Knights at home will be Saturday, January 9 against NCAA Division I Canisius with an 11 a.m. start time.

The regular season kicks off Friday, October 23 with a trip to the Westminster (Pa.) Relay Meet. One day later, the Golden Knights head to Ohio to face NCAA Division I Cleveland State on October 24. The opening month concludes Saturday, October 31 with a tri-meet hosted by Carnegie Mellon that includes Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Clarion.

Gannon opens the month of November with a road trip, traveling to Shippensburg on November 6 before heading to Bloomsburg for a November 7 meet. Following the home opener against Tiffin on November 14, the Golden Knights head to Ohio with Grove City for a tri-meet at Case Western.

The first semester concludes with a three-day event (December 3-5) at the Mid-Season Invitational hosted by Wooster. The Golden Knights then take 34 days off before returning to action January 9 for Senior Day against Canisius. The regular season concludes January 29-30 at the Indiana (Pa.) Invitational.

The postseason opens February 18-21 at the PSAC Championships in York, Pa. The NCAA Division II National Championships are slated for March 9-12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Gannon women's swim program placed fourth at the 2015 PSAC Championships, recording its fourth consecutive top-five finish. The Gannon men's team recorded its fourth consecutive fourth-place finish at the conference championships, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2012.

Thirty-six Gannon student-athletes qualified for the 2015 PSAC Championships - 18 women and 18 men. Four men's school records were broken last season while two more fell on the women's side. The men's 800-yard relay team of Denys Fedorchenko (Zaporizhia, Ukraine/Zaporizkiy Collegium #98), Drew Wolter (Clarksville, Md./Atholton), Terrance Coughran (Atwater, Calif./Atwater) and Adam Chrzanowski (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Madeline Summers (Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens), Shanen Lazenby (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Emily Nottingham (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) and Morgan Lydic (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) broke relay records.

Individual school records were broken by Chrzanowski in the 50-yard freestyle (20.75), 200-yard freestyle (1:40.42) and 100-yard backstroke (50.31). Samantha Favret (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) recorded the only women's individual school record in the 100-yard backstroke (57.57).
