Loras Swept by Grinnell

After sweeping Simpson on Friday, the Loras men's and women's swimming and diving team competed in a dual meet against Grinnell. Both the men and women fell short on Saturday.

Sophomore Danny Cepeda had a strong showing in the 500 free, taking first place in the event with an overall time of 5:35.26. Coming in second place in the event was sophomore Tommy Priewe with an overall time of 5:35.37. Both Cepeda and Priewe were well ahead of the rest of the field.

Senior Greg Comier took first place in the 100 free. The Rockford native had an overall 59.61 earning the Duhawks nine team points. Senior Will Rabedeaux also had a strong showing in the 100 free, taking second place in the event earning an overall time of 1:04.35.

Sophomore Kim Breaux continued her strong 2015-2016 season with another first place victory. In the 200 free, Breaux finished with a 2:20.21. This is her second time this season winning a 200 free race.

In the 100 free, Kasey Jacobson won her second race in the 2015-2016 season. Against Grinnell Jacobson finished with a 1:03.37, edging out Malena Maxwell by .67 seconds.

Both the men and women will travel to Cedar Rapids on Saturday, December 5 to compete in a dual meet against Coe.
