Hathcock Signs with Milligan

Anna Hathcock, a swimming standout from Seymour, Tennessee, and Heritage High School, has signed with the Milligan College swim team for the 2015-16 season, announced Head Coach Jes Sutton.

Hathcock, who has been swimming since she was nine years old, currently swims for PRIME Aquatics year-round swimming in addition to her high school team, and specializes in mid-distance and fly events such as the 200 individual medley, 500 free style and 100 butterfly. She has earned four letters in swimming and has personal bests of 2:31.75 in the 200 IM, 5:52.47 in the 500 free, 1:11.92 in the 100 fly, 2:20.64 in the 200 free, 27.43 in the 50 free and 1:12.35 in the 100 backstroke.

Hathcock will swim on the Milligan team next year led by current assistant coach Kelly Chism, who will take over the head coach after Sutton retires in March.

"(Hathcock) is our first signee for the 2016-17 season, and we are excited to have her join," said Sutton. "Anna will be a great addition to our team as she is an excellent student and a quality athlete."

As a junior, Hathcock was a Tennessee State Qualifier in the 500 free style, a GKAISA city meet finalist in the 200 IM and a Fellowship of Christian Athletes 3D Athlete.

Outside of her time as a swimmer, Hathcock plays tennis at Heritage and is a member of the Beta Club as well as the National Honor Society. She has academic honors such as math and science academic letters, is the baccalaureate president and is a member of the Heritage Singers-Top Ensemble.

Hathcock also participates in the Heritage student council, and she finds time to run in 5k races as well.

Hathcock is one of the first swimmers from her high school to sign to swim in college. She is the daughter of Greg and Pam Hathcock and plans to major in accounting.
