Anika Apostalon tallied six wins as #12 Southern California swept through Arizona to lead this week's National Collegiate Swimmers-of-the-Week. North Carolina State dropped duals to new #1 Stanford and #3 California but Simonas Bilis posted the nation's second-best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle to earn this week's Division I Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week.
In addition to National Swimmers-of-the-Week, CollegeSwimming.com selected 128 conference swimmers-of-the-week out of 10,851 swimmers competing this weekend.
National honors were also earned by Sofia Petrenko of Wingate and Diogo Dias of Missouri-Saint Louis in Division II. Division III honors went to Marissa Bednarek of Denison and Albion College's Derek Bosko. Lindsey Wilson College swept NAIA honors with Laura Stephenson and Clemens Patzold. Patzold was a perfect five for five in races this weekend and added a pair of relay victories as well. Christina Loh and John Fauteux of Indian River State College were named NJCAA Swimmers-of-the-Week.
In addition to the eight National Swimmers-of-the-Week, 128 swimmers were selected by CollegeSwimming.com as Swimmers-of-the-Week for their respective conferences. These selections are separate from selections made by each conference.
