Northeastern Defeats MIT

The Northeastern women’s swimming and diving team gave a warm welcome back to alumni during homecoming weekend with a 176-118 victory over MIT on Friday night.
 
The Red and Black (4-2, 1-1 CAA) notched 11 first place finishes and 32 top-three finishes, while six Huskies earned new season personal bests.
 
The Huskies held the advantage the entire meet and tabbed six straight first place finishes into the second half of the meet. The Engineers (0-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) landed first-placefinishes in the 1000 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 500 breaststroke.
 
Alyssa Seales and Jacquelyn Gover will join Caroline Gonsalves at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in March 2016 after their 1-meter and 3-meter dive scores vs. the Engineers.
 
Seales also recorded  a new team season best for the Huskies in the 1-meter dive with 276.08 points.
 
Anila Mehta registered a season personal record in the 1000 freestyle with 11:03.08 (fourth place). The sophomore shaved off 10.79 from her previous time.
 
NU will take some time to prepare for the Frank Elm Invitational on Nov. 20-22  in Piscataway, New Jersey.
