Air Force Men Scale Grand Canyon

The Air Force men’s swimming team remained undefeated in dual meets this season with a 129-114 win over Western Athletic Conference rival, Grand Canyon in a dual meet Friday, Nov. 6, in Phoenix, Ariz.

In the second event of the evening, Garrett Glaudini won the 1000 free (9:45.84) and Collin Green was second (9:48.50).  Several other Falcons went on to win individual events.

Jordan Dahle won both the 50 free (20.84) and the 100 free (45.57). Michael Barnosky won the 100 breast stroke (54.22). The Falcons won the 200 free relay as the team of George Frank, Steffen Mount, Lars Knutson and Jordan Dahle posted a time of 1:21.87.

In several events, the Falcons did not win, but the team’s depth earned plenty of points to help lead the Falcons to the team victory.

Kevin Jackson (1:41.55) and Michael Hannigan (1:42.02) took second and third, respectively, in the 200 free. In the 400 IM, Andrew Faciszewski (4:03.21) was second, Collin Green was third (4:06.78) and Derek Brecht was fourth (4:09.02).

In the 100 butterfly, Kevin Mitchell was second (50:38), Sean Ledford was third (50:39), Kevin Pollard (51:09). In the 100 back stroke, Devon Davis was second (48.67), Joey Gebhart (50.99) was third and Corey Gutierrez (51.70). In the 500 free, Kevin Jackson was second (4:35.02), Faciszewski (4:37.37), Garrett Glaudini was fourth (4:44.44).

In diving, Nathanael Zillweger won the 1-meter (340.28)

The Falcons (7-0 overall this season) face Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Tempe, Ariz.
