Emmanuel Sweeps Greensboro

On Saturday, January 17, Emmanuel College competed against Greensboro College in the Men's last home dual meet of the season. The Lion's defeated the Pride by the score of 122 to 37.

In the Sprint Free events, Zach Howe finished 1st in the 50 free with a time of 28.16 followed by Zach Dunlap 2nd (30.76). Reichenbach was 1st in the 100 yard free with a time of 49.83. Rowe came in 3rd with a time of 53.92. Howe came in 4th (1:07.93). Reichenbach also earned 1st in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.07. Aguilar 2nd (1:55.70) Nicholson 4th (2:08.97).

In the Distance Free events, Felipe Aguilar finished 1st (500 free) with a time of 5:05.27. Nicholson 3rd (5:41.64) Rabern 4th (5:56.50). Santiago Aguilar finished 1st place in 1000 yard free with a time of 10:02.92 and Mendoza came in 2nd with a time of 10:07.95. Followed by Wyatt Nicholson, who came in 4th with a time of 11:23.19. Aguilar's time was a new EC school record by 10 seconds.

In the Stroke events, Aleksandrowicz finished 1st (200 back) with a time of 2:00.94. Estabrooks 3rd (3:07.25) Dunlap 4th (3:17.94). Aguilar finished 1st (2:07.61) in the 200 butterfly. David Rabern came in 2nd with a time of 2:39.22. Aleksandrowicz again touched the wall 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.76. Rowe came in 3rd with a time of 2:19.52, Estabrooks came in 5th with a time of 2:55.67.

In the Relay event, the 200 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Howe, Rabern and Dunlap) took first with a time of 2:05.18.

The Lion's are undefeated in Dual meet competition this season with a 5-0 record.

EC swimming heads to Gaffney, SC this Saturday to compete against the Saints of Limestone College. Meet begins at 11:00am.


EC Swimming celebrated Senior Day in style, with a victory over the Greensboro College Pride by the score of 109 to 52.

Seniors Jenna Lamont and Stephanie Canady had a fantastic Senior Day. Right from the start the 200 Medley Relay of Tobo, Tamblyn, Gonzalez, and Senior Captain, Stephanie Canady anchoring, finished 1st with a time of 2:01.32.

In the Sprint Free events, Lamont finished 1st (50 Free) with a time of 28.12. Emma Tamblyn came in 2nd with a time of 28.23 and Darla Smith came in 4th with a time of 35.31. Lamont touched the wall again in 1st in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.41. Canady came in 3rd (1:12.29) Smith 4th (1:30.29). Gonzalez was 1st in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:06.24. Gratz came in 3rd (2:13.65).

In the Distance Free events, Lamont came in 2nd place (500 free) with a time of 6:42.35. Sarah Curtright came in 3rd with a time of 7:07.61. Whitaker won 1st place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:52.28, followed by Curtright 2nd (14:49.73).

In the Stroke events, Diana Tobo finished 1st (200 back) with a time of 2:11.79, followed by Whitaker (3rd) 2:39.40. Gonzalez was 1st again, in the 200 yard butterfly, with a time of 2:13.54.

Tobo (1st) in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:20.05. Tamblyn came in 2nd in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:49.49, followed by Savannah Gratz, 3rd (3:03.19).

With this win, the Lady Lion's move to 5-2 overall in Dual meet competition this season.

Women's swimming has their last home meet this Season, this Friday, at 4:30pm. The Lady Lion's compete against NCAA Div. II nationally ranked, University of West Florida.
