Tampa Sweeps Rollins

In the final regular-season contest for the University of Tampa swimming teams, the Spartans sent their seniors out on a good note with a pair of wins over Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins College.

Tampa's men outscored the Tars by a 140-79 mark, as the women registered a 125-90 victory.

Tampa's men won their first race, the 200 Medley Relay as the team of Kameron Kilpatrick, Robert Cicchini, Zane Hranac and Derek Krell were timed at 1:40.02.

UT's men also won 10 individual races, led by Runar Borgen in the 200 Free (1:48.95). Also winning their races were Hranac (100 Back, 56.99), Tommy Reminger (200 Fly, 2:00.78), Martin Hammer (50 Free, 21.89), Krell (100 Free, 47.92), Kilpatrick (200 Back, 2:00.78), Cicchini (200 Breast, 2:17.39), Kyle Freudiger (100 Fly, 54.21), Victor Philaire (1,000 Free, 10:06.98) and Jeremy Parker (200 IM, 2:03.71).

The Spartan women also captured the 200 Medley Relay to begin the meet. The team of Lexi Webb, Emily Tan, Erin Plachy and Emily Grams finished in 1:56.86.

Marisa Barton won two individual events, including the 200 Free (2:03.08) and 100 Fly (1:01.62). Other Spartans to finish first were Sophie Long (100 Back, 1:04.30), Plachy (50 Free, 25.50), Catherine Bayes (100 Free, 56.48), Isabelle Corgel (200 Back, 2:15.04) and Briana Murphy (200 IM, 2:17.64).

The Spartans have one regular-season meet on the schedule as they travel to Fort Pierce, Fla., to swim versus Indian River State College on Friday at noon.
