Loras Swept by Luther

 In their first competition of the new year, the Loras Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving programs were swept by Luther College on Saturday inside the Luther College Aquatic Center. The men fell by a 128-73 margin while the women suffered a 172-55 setback.

In the men's meet, three Duhawks claimed individual wins, including two season-best marks.

Senior Matt Bogen won the 1000 Free and posted a season-best time of 10:40.51. Joining him in the winner's circle was junior Zach Benson and sophomore Ike Casey.

Benson posted a season-best time in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:00.92. Later, in the 200 Breast, Benson finished first with a time of 2:18.13

Casey continued his unbeaten streaks in both the 50 Free and 100 Free. With a time of 21.72, Casey earned his fifth victory in the 50 Free. Later in the meet, Casey earned his sixth victory in the 100 Free with a time of 48.66.

Senior Lexie Mollahan was the only Duhawk on the women's side to record a victory on Saturday. With a time of 57.04, Mollahan grabbed first place in the 100 Free.

Loras will be on the road next weekend when they compete at the University of Chicago Invitational.
