Yellow Jacket Invite - Day 1

Franklin & Marshall Men

Franklin & Marshall stands in fifth place out of ten teams at the end of day one of the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College. The Diplomats have collected 120.5 points, while leaders Washington College have earned 195. 

Eric Lang claimed the Diplomats' top individual finish of the day, taking fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:59.89. He was followed by Jack Currie, who finished 19th in 2:04.38.

Also turning in a strong performance was Daniel Sanders, whose time of 22.05 was good for seventh in the 50-yard freestyle. Ryan Caffrey tied for 13th, finishing in 22.43, while Matthew Murphy took 24th with a time of 22.84.

Sanders also contributed to a pair of successful relays, as he joined Timothy Gould, Caffrey, and Richard Perry in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 3:35.99 to take second place.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Caffrey, Murphy, Sanders, and Keith Kamons teamed up to take fifth with a time of 1:28.32. They were followed by Perry, Currie, David Burton, and Tyler Zlupko, who finished in 1:31.05 to claim 12th.

Perry led the way in the 500-yard freestyle relay, clocking a time of 4:53.97 to finish ninth overall. He was followed by Patrick Greaney (16th, 4:58.50), Reeves Connolly (19th, 5:00.72), Jordan Alter (20th, 5:00.77), and Gould (21st, 5:00.98).

The Diplomats return to action tomorrow at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, with sessions scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

 

Franklin & Marshall Women

At the conclusion of day one of the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College, Franklin & Marshall sits in second place. The Diplomats earned 172 points over the first session, trailing leaders Washington & Lee with 267.

In the 200-yard IM, Melissa Mullin claimed 17 points for F&M by taking second place with a time a 2:11.70. The Diplomats showed their depth as Kellen McDonald took fourth in 2:13.40, Anna Hess earned eighth in 2:14.94, and Michelle Wall finished 12th with a time of 2:17.94.

Mullin, McDonald, and Hess were part of another second-place effort in the 400-yard medley relay, joining Jillian Albus to take silver with a time of 4:00.83.

Albus and Hess also took part in the 200-yard freestyle relay, teaming up with Alyson Campbell and Taylor Mateja to clock a time of 1:42.11 and take sixth place.

Albus put together a strong individual performance in the 50-freestyle, taking third overall in 24.94.

Breann Cavanagh paced F&M in the 500-yard freestyle, coming in sixth in 5:14.92. Grace Pereles followed closely, taking eighth with a time of 5:15.14.
