Florida Women Add Diver

The University of Florida’s women’s swimming and diving program inked a diver, Miranda Goss, to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Gregg Troy announced Monday.

Florida continued its recent trend of sibling signings, as Goss is the sister of Florida’s redshirt freshman diver Dalton Goss.

“I'm excited about the addition of Miranda Goss to our program,” head diving coach Dale Schultz said. “Miranda is a talented athlete and I am looking forward to her development in our diving program.”

Back in November, the Gators inked nine other student-athletes, as Troy and his staff tapped the United States coast-to-coast and signed a pair of talented student-athletes from New Zealand for the best talent, landing a tremendous class, including Sophia Batchelor (Canterbury, New Zealand), Hannah Burns (Gainesville, Fla.), Abigail Howell (Clermont, Fla.), Georgia Marris (New Zealand), Tyla Martin (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Mollie Pulte (Troy, Mich.), Katie Rourke (Glenview, Ill.), Sydney Sell (Frankfort, Ky.), and Emma Spilman (Belleair, Fla.).

"I am extremely excited about my first recruiting class here at the University of Florida.” Schultz said back in November. “With the divers that are currently here and these new additions, I’m look forward to having a strong nucleus for the future."

Coach Troy echoed Schultz’ comments about his incoming swimmers.

“We are extremely excited about the quality and depth of the class,” Troy said. “We covered a lot of our needs with these student-athletes. This is an outstanding class of women that are not only extremely talented in the pool, but are great students as well.”

Also in 2014, Goss was a USA Diving spring and summer region seven championship qualifier on both the one- and three-meter boards. In addition during the summer, Goss was a Zone D championship qualifier on the three-meter dive. This year, the Jacksonville, Fla. product competed at the 2015 USA Diving All-Star Challenge and was an AAU National Qualifier.
