Texas A&M Women Sweep Houston, North Texas

The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team remain undefeated after victories over the University of Houston and University of North Texas on Friday.

The Aggies maintain their perfect 3-0 record for the season after taking down the UH Cougars 140-95 and the UNT Mean Green 140-86. The women took first in 12 of the 13 events.

"I am very pleased with our girls," said head coach Steve Bultman. "They went out and raced hard tonight. This was a great way to end a good week of training."

Stand out swims came from seniors Sarah Henry and Sammie Bosma as well as sophomore Sycerika McMahon. The senior duo claimed victory both of their events. Henry had a solid 400 IM going a 4:13.11 and finished the night with a 2:17.07 in the 200 breaststroke. Bosma had a had two great performances going 22.72 in the 50 freestyle and blew away the rest of the competition with a 2:03.17 in the 200 butterfly. McMahon started the meet strong taking first in the 200 freestyle with a 1:49.38. In her 500 freestyle, she wiped out the competition going a 4:51.85, winning by 17.5 seconds.

On the boards, sophomore Madison Hudkins lead the way for the Aggies. Hudkins took first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. On the 1-meter, Hudkins finished with a score of 276.35. She won the 3-meter event by a devastating 67 points scoring a 329.90.

Next up, the women will take on their long time rivals, the Texas Longhorns. The two will meet up at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin next Friday.
