Air Force Swept Colorado School of Mines, Colorado Mesa

The Air Force men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept a pair of dual meets Friday Oct. 24, at the Academy’s Cadet Natatorium. The men beat Colorado School of Mines (126.00-101.00) and Colorado Mesa (124.00-109.00). The women also beat Colorado School of Mines (130.00-83.00) and Colorado Mesa (118.00-111.00).

The men’s 200 medley relay of Kris Tillery, Zach Knoche, Grant Temple and Lars Knutson won with a time of 1:34.53. Knoche also won the 100 breast stroke (57.67) while Grant Temple also won the 100 butterfly (52.75). Several other Falcons won individual events, including Andrew Faciszewski, 1000 free (9:54.01); Kevin Jackson, 200 free (1:43.79); Jordan Dahle, 50 free (21.32); Kevin Mitchell, 200 IM (1:57.01); Michael Hannigan, 100 free (46.81); Andrew Antonetti, 500 free (4:54.86)

In men’s diving, Dominic Vallejo won the three-meter with 308.48 points while Nathaniel Zillweger was second (301.65). Zillweger won the one-meter with 302.85 points. Vallejo was second with 294.38.

The women swept the 200 free as Genevieve Miller won (1:56.27) while Brianna Mount was second (1:59.88) and Christina Santala was third (2:00.82). Kim Davis won three events for the third straight meet, the 50 free (24.05), 100 butterfly (57.81) and 100 breast stroke (1:05.40). Several other Falcons won individual events, including Miller, 100 free (53.67); Clara Heffernan, 1000 free (11:00.16); Sara Menke, 500 free (5:18.03); Jinan Andrews, 200 IM (2;11.40).

In women’s three-meter diving, Jessica Horn won the event with 238.73 points while Lainie Long was second (234.68). In one-meter, Long won with 239.18 points while Horn was second (236.70).
