Terrier Invite Recaps - Day 2

Two Stags qualified to compete in the finals of their events as the Fairfield University men’s swimming & diving team wrapped up the first two days of the Terrier Invitational at Boston University’s Competition Pool. Junior Andrew Robinson (Warwick, R.I.) posted his personal best 500y freestyle time since high school.

In the C-Final of the 500y freestyle event, Robinson recorded a 4:47.35 to finish fifth in the final and 21st overall.

In the B-Final of the 400y IM, junior Connor Daly (Reading, Mass.) clocked a 4:06.95, to score nine points, finish ninth overall, and first in the final. In the B-Final of the 100y breaststroke, Daly posted a 59.30 to place seventh in the final and finish 15th overall. In the C-Final of the 200y IM, Daly recorded a 1:55.66 to finish third in the final and 19th overall.

The 200y freestyle relay team of Jay Cook (Lynnfield, Mass.), Scott McGinty (Reading, Mass.), Collin Hayes (Northport, N.Y.), and Daly clocked a time of 1:29.09 to finish 12th overall while the team of Robert Hansen (Millbury, Mass.), Andrew Tavcar (Queens Village, N.Y.), Jameson Duncan (Stamford, Conn.), and Kyle Lally (New Milford, N.J.) followed in 14th place with a time of 1:34.46.

In the 800y freestyle relay, the team of McGinty, Daly, Robinson, and Cook recorded a time of 7:06.64 to finish 10th overall. The team of Hayes, Duncan, Tavcar, and Pat Orkins (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished in 14th place with a time of 7:31.29.

The 200y medley relay team of Hayes, Tavcar, McGinty, and Cook recorded a time of 1:40.65 to finish 13th overall while the team of Duncan, Robinson, Lally, and Hansen, followed in 14th place with a time of 1:47.57.

In the 400y medley relay, the team of Hayes, Daly, McGinty, and Cook recorded a time of 3:36.50 to finish 12th overall while the team of Lally, Tavcar, Robinson, and Duncan followed in 13th place with a time of 3:52.33.

Senior Meredith LaBerge (Newtown, Pa.) recorded a lifetime personal best 500y freestyle time. Her previous personal best was clocked sophomore year.

In the B-Final of the 500y freestyle event, LaBerge clocked a 5:07.60, to score 4 points, and finish fifth in the final and 13th overall.

In the B-Final of the 200y IM, Sierra Weiner (Centerport, N.Y.) posted a 2:12.29 to finish eighth in the final and 16th overall.

In the C-Final of the 50y freestyle event, Liz Avery (Hampden, Mass.) clocked a 25.04 to finish 21st overall and fifth in the final.

In the B-Final of the 400y IM, Weiner clocked a 4:32.10 to finish ninth overall and place first in the final. In  the C-Final, LaBerge recorded a personal best 4:46.75 to finish 22nd overall and sixth in the final.

In the B-Final of the 100y backstroke event, Kelly Mulligan (Bellerose, N.Y.) clocked a 1:00.09 to finish fifth in the final and 13th overall.

In the B-Final 200y freestyle relay, the team of Michelle Pleban (Seymour, Conn.), Avery, Mulligan, and Weiner recorded a time of 1:41.36 to finish 12th overall while the team of Meghan Weiser (Yardley, Pa.), Alyssa Acompora (West Islip, N.Y.), Ashley Boyle (Cranberry, N.J.), and Brianna Thompson (Basking Ridge, N.J.) followed in 13th place with a time of 1:44.43.

In the A-Final 800y freestyle relay, the team of Acompora, Weiner, LaBerge, and Weiser recorded a time of 7:54.71 to finish ninth overall.

In the B-Final of the 200y medley relay, the team of Katherine Kraus (Glendale, N.Y.), Callie Vacchiano (Huntington, N.Y.), Acompora, and Pleban recorded a time of 1:59.38 to finish 12th overall.

In the B-Final of the 400y medley relay, the team of Mulligan, Meghan Guinee (Berkeley Heights, N.J.), Weiner, and Avery recorded a time of 4:08.66 to finish 13th overall while the team of Thompson, Vacchiano, Acompora, and Pleban followed in 14th place with a time of 4:10.30.
