USC Diving Invite - Day 3

A weekend of strong showings for Boise State’s diving contingent wrapped up Sunday as the Broncos posted three top-10 finishes in the platform competition at the USC Diving Invitational in Los Angeles.

Senior Erin Kohlbeck and sophomore Jordan Marthens tied for fifth with matching scores of 224.45 while freshman Kacee Olson finished 10th with a final score of 202.95. For Kohlbeck it was her third top-six finish in as many events over the weekend, as she took fifth in the 3-meter competition Friday and sixth among the 1-meter field Saturday. She and Marthens were the top divers from the Mountain West in the final standings.

Sophomore Karli Kriewall (15th, 189.95) and freshman Kiley Carlson (20th, 164.00) also competed in the platform event. For Carlson it marked her collegiate diving debut.

“Erin and Jordan did a great job in our first platform outing of the year,” said Bronco head diving coach John Lynch. “With one performance under our belt we’re excited for Arizona in two weeks.”

The Bronco divers return to action Nov. 21-23 at the Wildcat Diving Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. The Boise State swimmers also return to action that weekend, traveling to College Station, Texas to compete at the Texas A&M Invitational from Nov. 20-22.
