SMU won the 200-yard medley relay as seniors Nicolai Hansen and Ramom Melo, junior Matas Andriekus and freshman Ziga Cerkovnik finished with a time of 1:27.71, as the SMU men's swimming team competed on day two of the American Short Course Championships in Austin, Texas.
In addition, Melo clocked a time of 19.54 seconds in a 50-yard freestyle time trial while junior Hunter Middleton finished third in the bonus final of the 100-yard butterfly as he clocked a time of 51.27 seconds.
The time SMU posted in the 200-yard medley relay was an NCAA `B' standard qualifying time.
SMU returns to action tomorrow for the third and final day of the American Short Course Championships in Austin, Texas. Preliminaries begin at 9:15 a.m. CT and finals for those events are slated to start at 6 p.m. CT.
