Georgia Last Chance Meet Recaps

Arkansas

Sophomore Rachel Stoehr recorded a personal-best swim on Saturday at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet held at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. The Lake Forest, Ill., native registered that fastest prelim time in the 500-yard freestyle with a career-best and NCAA 'B' cut time of 4:45.72. That swim cut 0.98 seconds off Stoehr's previous best time recorded at the SEC Championships last week. Stoehr finished second in the event final Saturday evening.

Freshman Aiden Lister (Toowoomba, Australia) swam an NCAA 'B' cut time of 4:47.30 in the 500 freestyle prelim and placed third in the final. Junior Lauren Jordan (Carmel, Ind.) also represented Arkansas in the 500 freestyle, placing sixth in the prelim.

Sophomore Nina Drolc (Velenje, Slovenia) began the morning with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 22.88 in the 50 freestyle and placed fourth overall in the final with a time of 22.89.

The Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet serves as an opportunity for Razorbacks to lower their times before NCAA selections. On Sunday, prelims will begin at 9 a.m. CT, and finals will be held at 3 p.m. Live results can be accessed here.

Northwestern

Taryn Collura took third in the 50-yard freestyle and Shannon Guy finished seventh in the 100-yard butterfly at the first day of the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet on Saturday at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Nebraska's first competitor, Collura, finished the 50-yard freestyle in 22.68, earning third place. Her time tied the season best she swam at last weekend's Big Ten Championships, but fell short of the NCAA A-cut time of 21.99. Collura will compete in the 100-yard freestyle on Sunday.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Guy swam a time of 55.01 to earn seventh place. The senior swam a 54.55 in the morning's preliminary round, just missing the 54.16 mark she swam at the Big Ten Championships. Guy also missed an NCAA A cut, but she will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke on Sunday.

Sunday's second and final day of the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet will begin with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 4 p.m.
