Notre Dame Women Announce 2014-15 Schedule

The University of Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team released an impressive 2014-15 schedule Monday. Highlighting the slate are six dual meets against teams that scored points at the NCAA Championships and a trip to the elite Texas and Iowa Invitationals to round out the fall semester.

The Irish welcome opponents in for seven home meets as dual competitions against Michigan State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Illinois and Cleveland State all dot the schedule and will take place at Rolfs Aquatic Center on campus. In addition, the annual Dennis Stark Relays and the Shamrock Invitational are again part of the home slate.

Road duals include trips to Atlanta to face off with Georgia Tech and South Carolina, to Auburn to meet the Tigers and Vanderbilt, to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face off with Michigan and Northwestern and to Madison, Wis., for a double dual against Wisconsin and Indiana.

This year’s Atlantic Coast Conference Championships are slated for Georgia Tech’s Aquatic Center in Atlanta while the NCAA Championships will be held in Greensboro, N.C.

Last year, the Irish finished sixth at their first ACC Championships before tying for 16th at the NCAA Championships behind rising senior Emma Reaney’s national championship performance in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Indiana, Wisconsin, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Purdue and Michigan all made the NCAA Championships last year, with the Irish besting the Hokies, Boilermakers and Wolverines but coming up short against the Hoosiers, Badgers and Tigers.
