Friesenhahn Named Assistant at Delta State

Delta State University head swimming and diving coach Dan'l Murray announced the addition of Kyle Friesenhahn to the full-time coaching staff on Monday, July 14. Friesenhahn will serve as Murray's primary assistant while continuing to coach DSU's divers.

"I am very excited to take on this new role at DSU this upcoming year," Friesenhahn said. "We have an amazing group of divers, and swimmers coming in this year, and I hope to help guide the team to conference championships, and compete well at nationals. I am very humble and honored to have this appointment, and I look forward to many great years with DSU."

Last year, Friesenhahn served as a graduate assistant on Murray's staff while helping lead the Lady Statesmen to a second consecutive New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference title. Matt Swaine finished the year on a high note, capturing 12th place in 1-Meter and 17th in 3-Meter diving at the NCAA championships. Connor Bennett qualified for nationals, but did not compete.

Prior to coming to DSU, Friesenhahn served on the staff at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. From 2009 to 2013, Friesenhahn held the positions of assistant coach and head diving coach.
