Denver's Hurst Promoted to Associate Head Coach

After two years as an assistant coach of the University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving team, Tyson Hurst received a promotion to associate head coach, head coach Brian Schrader announced on Monday, June 30.

“Tyson has been a great addition to our staff, and I know he has been impactful every place he has coached, but no more so than here,” Schrader said. “I know he will continue to be a great recruiter, a great coach, and a great and fun mentor for the student-athletes that are a part of our program. He will be an important part of our continued growth as a program.”

As a result of his new title, Hurst will be the men’s recruiting director as well as the director of sprint and power programs.

In addition to being the technique coach of the breaststroke group and sprint freestyle, Hurst will be the travel coordinator for training trip/men’s team travel, the compliance coordinator, the coordinator of alumni events and the Hy Tek specialist/event liaison with USA/NCAA swims.
