After Denison, the women's rankings were dominated by the NESCAC. Four teams - WIlliams (2nd), Amherst (3rd), Connecticut (6th) and Bates (7th) landed in the top ten. The UAA's Washington University and Chicago ranked fourth and fifth with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, DePauw and Pomona-Pitzer rounding out the top ten.
On the men's side, Denison ranked second behind Williams. MIT, Amherst, Johns Hopkins, DePauw, WashU, Chicago, TCNJ and Connecticut landed in the top ten.
The ranking accounts for teams' top performances over the preceding month and is the only objective ranking of swimming for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and NJCAA. The rankings utilize a new point system based on a 1,100 point scale. The new scale uses NCAA time standards and a percentile ranking of all times over the past four years.
