Rice's Clark Named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week

For the second time this season, Rice senior Casey Clark is the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week after winning four events and breaking two school records. Old Dominion senior Rachel Eckert claimed her third C-USA Diver of the Week accolade following her performance at the Florida Atlantic Invitational.

Swimmer of the Week - Casey Clark, Rice, Sr., Spring, Texas
Clark won four individual events, swam on all of Rice's winning relays, broke two school records and posted a group of NCAA provisional times to lead the Owls to victory at the Incarnate Word Invitational. The Spring, Texas, native broke her own school record in the 100-butterfly with an NCAA B time of 52.70 and her record in the 100-backstroke by leading off the Owls' 400-meley relay with a 53.86 mark. The veteran finished first in the 100-free with a B cut 49.65 and in the 200-fly with a time of 2:00.48. This marks the seventh time Clark has been named C-USA Swimmer of the Week in her career and second time this season.

Diver of the Week - Rachel Eckert, Old Dominion, Sr., Rochester, New York
Eckert continued the fine form she has shown thus far in her senior season at the FAU Invitational this past weekend. The veteran set a new school record to post the top score in the 1-meter event with another zone qualifying score of 308.7, tops in C-USA this season. The mark gives Eckert the best dives in the 1-meter and 3-meter in the conference this year. The Rochester, New York, native also placed third at the invitational with a 259.15 in the 3-meter. The Diver of the Week honor is the fourth of her career (Nov. 11 and Oct. 28, 2014 and Oct. 29, 2013).
