Miami (OH) Men Sign Four

Miami University men’s swimming and diving had four sign national letters of intent, head coach Pete Lindsay announced.

Joining the team next season are Jake Precious (Louisville, Ky./Ballard), Will Pieseski (Castle Rock, Colo./ Regis Jesuit), Nick Potter (De Forest, Wis./ De Forest) and Harrison Moncino (Sandy Springs, Ga./ Pace Academy).

Precious comes to Miami as a three-time member of the Ballard High School regional and state teams. While he is a versatile swimmer, he is particularly strong in the backstroke and IM. On the national level, Precious clocked times of 50.48 in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2014 SE Southern Premier meet and 1:49.09 in the 200-yard backstroke at the 2014 Kentucky Short Course Championships. He also competed in the 100-yard freestyle (47.7), the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.66), and the 500-yard freestyle (4:27.26) at the 2014 SE Southern Premier meet. On the high school level, Precious was the 2014 state champion in the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 50.62. He has also earned 2014 Kentucky High School First-Team All-State honors. Precious also swims for the Lakeside SeaHawks Swim Team in Louisville coached by Mike DeBoor.

Pieseski is a sprint freestyle specialist. Under the coaching of Nick Frasersmith from the Denver Swim Academy, Pieseki has produced impressive long-course times over the past summer. In a recent meet, Pieseski competed in the 100-yard freestyle (LC) and touched the wall at 53.36. He has clocked a time of 21.30 in the 50-yard freestyle and finished the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.81.

Potter is a distance/400 IM specialist and looks to bring strong experience to the RedHawk distance and IM groups. He swims for the McFarland Spartan Sharks coached by Derrick O’Donnell. Potter has clocked times of 1:54.42 in the 200-yard IM and 4:05.19 in the 400-yard IM. He has finished the 500-yard freestyle with a time 4:39.50 and the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:05.42. According to Lindsay, Potter is a versatile swimmer who can swim just about any event and help the team out in a variety of events.

Moncino dives for Pace Academy and has represented them well as a three-time All-American. Moncino was state runner-up in 2012 but brought home the state championship title in 2013 and 2014. Outside of his high school team, he has competed with the Atlanta Diving Association at Georgia Tech for 13 years. Moncino has finished first in the Greater Atlanta Diving League Championships as well as the USA Diving Summer Junior Region 7 Championships. He has competed on the national level for seven years. In his most recent national competition Moncino finished 24th among 16-18 year-old boys in the 1-meter at the USA Diving’s 2013 Junior National Diving Championships. He placed 25th in the 3-meter competition.
