Cabrini College Announces Schedule

The Cabrini swim teams will look to build on their record breaking 2013-14 seasons, as the calendar moves to the 2014-15 campaign. The Cavaliers' women captured the program's first ever Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) title last season, while the men placed fourth at the season-ending championship meet.

The teams will open their seasons on Oct. 18 with a trip to University of Scranton for a tri-meet against the host Royals and FDU-The College of Florham. Cabrini will return to campus on Oct. 24 when they host. Pitt-Bradford. Following a trip to Rowan on Oct. 30, the Blue and White will welcome King's and Cedar Crest to the Dixon Center for a tri-meet on Nov. 1.

Cabrini will then visit Lebanon Valley and Marywood before heading west to Steubenville, Ohio where it will face Franciscan and Bethany on Nov. 15. Prior to the Thanksgiving break, the Cavaliers will compete in the two-day Swarthmore College Invitational on Nov. 21 and 22.

The Cavaliers will return to their home pool on Dec. 6, as AMCC rival Penn State-Altoona visits campus. The teams will take their annual winter break for training before returning to action on Jan. 17 when theyhost Ursinus. Cabrini make a return trip to Swarthmore's Ware Pool for a dual meet on Jan. 24 before celebrating Senior Day on Jan. 31 with a home meet against Ocean County.

The Cavaliers will then join the rest of the AMCC teams in Grove City, Pa. from Feb. 12-14 for the three day, season-ending AMCC Championship meet. In just two years, third year head coach Cindy Ikeler has turned the Cabrini swim program into one of the top programs in the AMCC, earning back-to-back AMCC Coach of the Year honors. The Blue and White won nine events at the 2014 AMCC Championship meet, leading to a total of 18 All-AMCC accolades. Leading the women's team will be sophomore Christina Melchiorre, who was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year after winning five events at the championship meet. Fellow sophomore Todd Walker, who placed second in the 100 and 200 backstroke at the championship meet, will anchor the men's squad.
