NCAA Champ Hixon Takes Silver on 1M at USA Nationals

Indiana University sophomore diver Michael Hixon finished second in the men’s 1-meter springboard competition on day two of the 2014 AT&T USA Diving National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
Hixon posted a score of 427.05, behind Aaron Fleshner’s winning score of 452.40. Recent IU graduate Darian Schmidt took fourth in the field with a score of 407.20. In prelims IU sophomore Joshua Arndt was 12th overall (325.80).
 
Junior Lacey Houser finished 10th in the women’s 1-meter springboard prelims, just missing a spot in the final with a score of 253.40.
 
On Tuesday former Hoosier Amy Cozad teamed with Katrina Young for a third-place finish in the women’s synchronized platform competition, scoring 267.30 points. They will compete in the final on Sunday. Andrew Hull and Danton Rogers were fourth in the event in prelims (314.88) with the final on Saturday.
