Stevens Adds to Staff with DeLaRosby

Head Swimming Coach Brad Thornton (New York, N.Y.) announced that Lindsay DeLaRosby (Middletown, Conn.) is the newest member of the 2012-13 Stev Head Swimming Coach Brad Thornton (New York, N.Y.) announced that Lindsay DeLaRosby (Middletown, Conn.) is the newest member of the 2012-13 Stevens Institute of Technology coaching staff. DeLaRosby comes to Hoboken having most recently worked as the head coach at Ferrum College in Virginia.  DeLaRosby comes from a swimming family.  Her sister Beth is the head women's coach at Carthage College.

“We are excited to add Lindsay to our coaching staff,” Thornton said. “Her knowledge of the sport, past experience and passion will fit perfectly with what we are trying to accomplish at Stevens.”

The Middlebury, Conn. native earned her B.A. in Public Relations from Saint Mary’s University (Minn.) in 2005 and her Master’s of Education in Athletic Administration from Springfield College (Mass.) in 2010. She has a wealth of coaching knowledge an experience dating back to 2007 where she spent time as an assistant at Gustavus Adolphus College.

While pursuing her Master’s at Springfield, DeLaRosby was an assistant coach with the Pride, guiding three student-athletes to All-America performances and the women’s program to a pair of conference titles. She also played a major role in recruiting, practice planning, team travel and aquatic event management. In addition to her graduate work and coaching duties, DeLaRosby was a Teaching Fellow in the Physical Education and Recreation Department.

Following her time in Massachusetts, DeLaRosby spent a year a Trinity College (Conn.) as an assistant coach. In addition to assisting the head coach in all aspects of the programs, she developed Trinity’s first-ever swim lesson program. She has also coached at CollegeSwimming.com camps since June of 2011.

DeLaRosby started the inaugural women’s swimming team at Ferrum, handling all aspects of running a collegiate program. She also assisted with aquatics facility renovations, equipment purchasing as well as the management and supervision of all aquatics staff. She monitored her students’ academic progress, developed practice plans and became proficient in programs such as FrontRush and Meet Manager.

DeLaRosby will assist in all aspects of the Stevens programs.
