Nearly two-thirds of the nation's Division II programs swam in mid-season championship-style meets and their performances provided plenty of change in the rankings which account for meets swum October 22-November 18, 2012.
On the women's side the top seven spots were occupied by teams coming off successful mid-season meets. Queens (NC) moved up two spots following its results at the Wingate Fall Frenzy. West Chester moved up eleven spots following its performances at the Rutgers Invitational while Ashland jumped up thirteen after winning its own Invitational. Incarnate Word edged Drury at Drury's own invitational, but the teams find themselves tied at fifth. Drury will likely see its stock rise when it travels to the Mizzou Invitational in two weeks.
For the men, Florida Southern team found itself knocked out of the top spot by teams enjoying successful mid-season meets. Queens (NC), Ashland and West Chester all saw big gains following their results at Wingate, Ashland and Rutgers respectively. While the Mocs easily handled Rollins, they will get their chance to regain the top spot when they field a stronger lineup at next week's Nova Southeastern Invitational.
