Boise State women’s swimming and diving assistant coach Justin Brosseau has been promoted to associate head coach, Bronco head coach Kristin Hill announced Tuesday. Brosseau recently finished his fourth season on the Boise State staff after being hired July 3, 2008, as an assistant.
“This is a great way to recognize the work Justin puts into Boise State swimming and diving after four years of contributing to our program,” Hill said. “It is a testament to both his determination and skill level as a member of our staff.”
In Brosseau’s four seasons as assistant coach, Boise State won three conference championships and sent student-athletes to the NCAA Championships each of the past two years.
After winning back-to-back Western Athletic Conference Championships in 2010 and 2011, the program claimed its third-straight title in 2012, winning the Mountain West Championship in its first year as a member of the conference.
The Broncos qualified a relay for the 2012 NCAA Championships, becoming the first team in Mountain West history to do so. The 200-yard freestyle relay finished 16th at the national meet as four Broncos earned honorable mention All-America accolades.
Hill and Brosseau recently returned from the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials where they coached five members of the 2011-12 Boise State team at the meet.
“Justin is an integral part of our coaching staff,” Hill said. “I know we are both excited about reaching new heights as a program this coming season.”
