The victories helped W&J Head Coach Mike Orstein earn his 400th victory at the college. Orstein, in his 24th season with the Presidents, now boasts a 400-160-1 dual-meet record as the W&J head coach. Overall, he owns a 460-185-2 record as a collegiate head coach (28 years).
During the meet, Orstein and Diving Coach Vic Galati honored the 14 senior members of the 2011-12 squad.
Senior Brittany Vogel (Butler, Pa./Butler) continued her recent dominance by racing to wins in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.49) and the 1650 freestyle (18:29.34). She also led the 200 freestyle relay to a win in 1:44.01.
Senior Ellie Tecza (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) swam on the 200 freestyle relay and also helped the 200 medley relay (1:55.89) to a win. Classmate C.J. Corcoran (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) was a member of the 200 freestyle relay and also claimed the 50 freestyle (25.22).
Senior Abbey Woodward (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) posted winning totals in both diving events with 206.95 points at 1-meter and 230.80 at three meters. W&J swept the diving competition after senior Justin Weifenbach (Corapolis, Pa./Montour) was victorious on the 1-meter (232.40) and 3-meter (246.85) boards for the men’s squad.
Freshman Sara Boldt (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) rounded out the W&J double winners with victories in the 400 IM (4:57.75) and 500 freestyle (5:24.49).
Senior Keyton Kalakewich (Edwards, Colo./Charleroi) racked up two wins for the men’s team, touching first in the 50 (22.68) and 100 (50.54) freestyle events. Freshman Jake Meyers (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock North) added first-place touches in the 500 (5:05.80) and 1650 (17:49.43) freestyles.
W&J looks to end its dual-meet schedule on a winning note next Saturday when traveling to NCAA Division II Wheeling Jesuit (1:00 pm).
