Spencer placed first with NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.71) and the 200 breaststroke (2:16.03), in which she broke her own meet record, and also won the 200 individual medley (2:03.86). Spencer also posted a NCAA provisional qualifying time as a member of the 200 medley relay team. Spencer, Tess Behrens, Tori Simenec and Erin Caflisch clocked in just .11 seconds behind the team from Missouri with a time of 1:42.87.
Kristen Steenvoorden earned a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:50.83, followed in order by her sister Ashley Steenvoorden and Kiera Janzen.
Behrens claimed the title in the 100 backstroke and set a meet record by clocking in at 55:31, while Simenec followed suit in the 200 butterfly by winning the event and matching the meet record in 2:02.43.
Maggie Keefer's score of 293.63 not only was the highest of the day, but was also a NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark.
The Gophers finished 1, 2, 3, 4 in the 500 freestyle, led by Hannah Whitehead's winning time of 4:50.59. She was followed by Lauren Weis, Janzen and A. Steenvoorden.
Minnesota closed out the event with a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Jessica Plant, Simenec, Marissa Davies and Caflisch claimed the crown by combining for a time of 3:24.16.
The Gophers finally return home to the University Aquatic Center to host the Big Ten Quad Duals vs. Purdue, Illinois and Wisconsin Jan. 27-28.
