Princeton Men Remain, Harvard Women Return to Top of Mid-Major Ranking

Ivy League students tend to be at the top of their class and this month a pair of Ivy League Schools are back on top of the February 8th CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Division I Rankings.  Harvard returned to the top spot in the women's poll following their first H-Y-P win since 2006 while the Princeton Tigers stayed atop the poll for the second month in a row.   The latest rankings represent teams' best lineups prior to the important Conference Championship Season.    There will be one final poll that reflects teams conference performance.

The Princeton men are looking for their third Mid-Major title and first since 2007.  The Tigers have claimed the past two women's titles, but will need a strong showing at the Ivy League Championships to overcome Harvard.  The Crimson women are seeking their fourth title and first since 2009.

Now in its 10th year, the Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams’ relative strength in a traditional dual meet lineup. The ranking is available to those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS conference or Mountain West Conference, or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
