The 2010-11 College Swimming Honors have been
released. In all, nineteen swimmers, divers or teams are being
recognized for their outstanding performances through the 2010-11
collegiate swimming and diving season. The University of California,
Berkeley (PAC-12) leads the way with four honors and another two
honorable mentions. Stanford University (PAC-12) follows with three
honors. Florida (SEC) Texas A&M (Big XII) earned two honors each.
The open nomination process for the 2010-11
season concluded on April 30th, 2011. Coaches, athletes and sport
administrators submitted their nominees for a sample of categories
including Career Improvement, Break-Out Swimmer, Break-Out Diver,
Break-Out Team and Most Exciting Dual Meet. In all, over 100 athletes
and/or teams from nearly seventy institutions were nominated for their
achievements.
A publication titled Profiles in
Excellence: 2010-11 College Swimming & Diving Honors is currently
available in virtual and PDF format. A print version of Profiles in
Excellence is available upon request (available late June 2011.) New in
2011 is the opportunity to cast a vote for your selection from within
the list of nominees. Nominations for the 2011-12 College Swimming and
Diving Honors will begin in the fall of 2011.
