Westminster Sweeps St. Vincent

The Westminster College men's and women's swimming and diving teams cruised to a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meets wins Saturday against visiting Saint Vincent. The Titan men won 133.5-95.5 and the Titans women won 140-101, but both teams started to swim as exhibition entrants once they clinched nine event wins apiece.

The Titan men are now 7-3 overall and 3-0 in PAC duals, and the Titan women are now 7-4 and 3-1 in PAC duals.

The Titan women broke their Westminster Natatorium record in the 400-yard medley relay from earlier in the season, as freshman Erin Erdley (Meadville, Pa./Cochranton), senior Courtney Herdt (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) and juniors Sierra Beecher (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) and Caitlin Lehberger (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) combined for a pool-record time of 4:04.39.

Beecher also won the 200 freestyle (2:01.24) and her exhibition time in the 200 backstroke (2:16.09) was faster than the Saint Vincent first-place finisher.

Lehberger also captured the 200 breaststroke (2:26.68) and Herdt took the 100 breaststroke (1:06.53).

The Titan men also had three multiple-event winners.
