Rocky Mountain Invite Action

The Colorado School of Mines swimming & diving teams combined for nine total first-place finishes at the two-day Rocky Mountain Invitational at the CSM Natatorium. The Oredigger men amassed five top finishes while the women recorded four first-place finishes.  

Andrew Zerwick led the way for the CSM men as he was part of three of Mines’ first-place finishes. Zerwick earned top individual honors in the 100 backstroke (54.83) and the 200 backstroke (1:57.12). The 400 Medley Relay which included Zerwick, Matt Bisping, Siarhei Piletski and Daniel Peter won the event with a time of 3:35.88. Piletski added a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.44) while Peter won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.10.
 
Sarah Moore and Cayla Wood each recorded first-place finishes in two events. The RMAC Women’s Pre-Season Diver of the Year, Moore won both the 1-meter (245.75) and 3-meter event (257.65) as she narrowly missed qualifying for Nationals. Wood won the 400 IM with a time of 4:53.70 and added a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:17.84) as well.
 
The Orediggers will host the Air Force Academy in a dual meet on Friday, Oct. 29th at the CSM Natatorium beginning at 4:00 pm. CSM will also be in action on Saturday, Nov. 13th at home hosting both Colorado College and Adams State at 2:00 pm.
