Kayleen Hicks placed in the top-10 in four of her five events to finish third in the short medley pentathlon today at the Pacific Coast Swimming Conference Pentathlon and Diving Invitational hosted by Cal Baptist. As a team, Pepperdine finished in fourth place out of 11 squads.
Hicks’ (Chico, Calif./Chico HS) top finish of the day was a second-place (30.45) showing in the 50 breaststroke. In the 100 IM, the senior placed third after clocking a time of 1:01.49. She placed fourth (27.32) in the 50 fly, seventh (25.07) in the 50 free and 13th (30.36) in the 50 backstroke to finish the pentathlon with a third-place time of 2:54.69
The four Wave divers placed in the top-10 of the biathlon, an event that collaborates the results of both the one and 3-meter springboard. Tiffany Martz (Folsom, Calif./Folsom HS) placed third in the 1-meter and fifth in the 3-meter for an overall finish of third place. Leslie Wade (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School) and Kristin Scribner (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake HS) finished just behind Martz in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Klaire Korver finished in the top-10 to bring the diver’s team point total to 110.0.
Madison Krall (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial HS) finished seventh in the freestyle pentathlon behind times of 12.27 in the 25, 25.07 in the 50, 55.90 in the 100, 1:58.27 in the 200, and 5:11.86 in the 500.
In the 200 IM, Shannon Adkins (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS) finished in a time of 2:15.62 to finish sixth in the event. She went on to place seventh in the 100 backstroke.
Pepperdine tallied 235.5 points to finish fourth overall.
The Waves open competition at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif. on Oct. 22-23 for the Malibu Invitational.
