Four individuals were two-time winners, including Ralph Herberg (Potsdam, Germany/Sportschule Potsdam), Johan Ivarsson (Sundsvall, Sweden/Sundsvall), Richie Krzyzanowski (Scottsdale, Ariz./Pinnacle) and Charlie Woodruff (Phoenix, Ariz./Central).
Herberg, an addition to the team at the beginning the semester, was a winner in the 200 IM (2:04.23) and 100 Breaststroke (1:00.82). Ivarsson was victorious in the 200 Freestyle (1:44.72) and 100 Backstroke (55.65). Krzyzanowski won the 100 Butterfly (54.50) and 500 Freestyle (5:02.06). Woodruff added victories in the 50 Freestyle (21.68) and 100 Freestyle (47.73).
The 12th-ranked Grand Canyon University women's swimming team defeated host Biola 135-68.
GCU won 10 of 11 events. Freshman Karlee Grundeis (Bakersfield, Calif./East), sophomore Caitilin Hoffman (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert) and senior Alexis Glessner (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/N. Colorado) each won two individual events and were a part of at least one victorious relay.
Grundeis won the 50 Freestyle (25.53) and 100 Freestyle (55.85). Hoffman was triumphant in the 200 IM (2:14.20) and 100 Backstroke (1:02.57). Glessner took top honors in the 200 Freestyle (2:00.74) and 500 Freestyle (5:23.93).
Freshman Riley Smith (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) won the 1650 Freestyle (18:23.01) and sophomore Brooke Bellah (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) won the 100 Butterfly (1:02.25).
The 200 Medley Relay (1:54.92) won with the group of Hoffman, Julie Redaway (Braine L'Alleud, Belgium/Ste. Gertrude Nivelles), Glessner and Bellah. The 200 Freestyle Relay (1:43.16) won with the quartet of Glessner, Smith, Grundeis and Bellah.
