Pepperdine Saved!

Pepperdine University Director of Athletics John Watson has announced that the Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team will continue to remain an NCAA Division I program.

Although terms associated with the recent fundraising campaign were not fully realized, enough funding has been secured to cover all operating costs. However additional financial commitments are still being sought to support student-athlete scholarships.

“This is a real blessing and I am grateful that we are able to continue the program,” said Watson. “It is exciting to know that a very special group of young women will continue to have the opportunity to pursue their passion as swimmers and divers at Pepperdine.”

Pepperdine recently completed its 10th season under the guidance of head coach Nick Rodionoff, placing fourth at last weekend’s Pacific Coast Swimming Conference Championships in Long Beach.
