Oakland Falls to Illinois, Toledo
Rochester, Mich. , October 17th, 2009

Freshman Sandra Czerska made her home debut a memorable one as she won the 100-yard butterfly (56.63), the 200 fly (2:03.25) and the 200 individual medley (2:06.73) at a triangular match with Illinois and Toledo Saturday afternoon.
Oakland lost 177-119 to Toledo and 178-122 to Illinois. In the other dual meet, Toledo beat Illinois 182-114.
“I thought we had a pretty good meet,” said associate head coach Shawn Kornoelje. “Some of the younger girls swam faster than they did last night. Sandra, Alyssa Busch, Margo Stanfa and JulieAnne Stears had a good meet for us today.”
Junior Chelsea Oates was a double-winner as she finished first in the 1 and 3-meter springboard events. She scored 268.55 and 258.10 points, respectively.
Senior Agnes Solan was second in the 100 backstroke (57.80) and third in the 200 back (207.10). Sophomore Marcella Barretta scored 253.80 points to take second on the 3-meter board.
The Golden Grizzlies are off until Oct. 31 when they host Wayne State. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
