First Weekend in the Books

October 12th, 2009
While Intrasquad and Alumni meets will continue to dot meet schedules for the next couple of weeks, the first official weekend of the post-suit era is in the books.  It was a weekend that marked the return of Michigan's redshirt NCAA Champion Emily Brunemann, and the fall of a 28-year old Wisconsin record.  Iowa-transfer Connor Dwyer made himself known in Florida's top-ten opener against Virginia.

Alabama, Army, Houston and Georgia Tech both welcomed multiple teams for multiple dual meets.  South Carolina's men topped Kentucky for their first SEC win in three years.  USC's coach back then was Don Gibb, now on the UK staff.

We got an early glimpse of Southern Cal's highly-touted freshman class that looks to be everything we expected.  Missouri and Purdue invited teams from across the Show-Me and Hoosier states and in both cases, Division II teams walked away with NCAA Qualifying times.

Out west, Boise State made a mark at the WAC Shootout while Rebecca Sturdy led Adams State into its first-ever competitions.   Finally, there were loads and loads of relays at Bloomsburg, Notre Dame, Denver and North Texas.

Top times are already updated.  Coaches / SID's if you don't see your times/results listed, send the Hy-Tek result file (with all teams) to results@collegeswimming.com.
