NYU Adds Rippe as Women's Assistant

New York , October 4th, 2009
Lizzie Rippe has been added as an assistant coach of the New York University women’s swimming & diving team. She will assist head coach Lauren Beam by working with all of the swim groups, both in the pool and on dry land.

A four-year swimmer for Dartmouth College, Rippe graduated in 2007 with a degree in psychology and a minor in art history. A team co-captain as a senior, she earned great distinction as a member of the Big Green, earning Second Team All-Ivy League honors. Rippe still holds the school record in the 100-yard butterfly, and is a member of the Dartmouth All-Time Top-Ten in seven other events.

A native of Colleyville, TX, Rippe was a 10-time All-American while competing for Colleyville Heritage High School.

After graduating from Dartmouth, Rippe went on to earn a Master of Science degree in education from Brooklyn College in 2009. In addition to her coaching duties, she works as a special education teacher at P.S. 58 in Brooklyn.

"I'm excited to welcome Lizzie to our NYU Family," Beam said. "Her experience and enthusiasm will be great assets to our program."

Rippe, whose sister Molly is currently a sophomore swimmer for the Violets, resides in Brooklyn.
