Marshall Swimming Signs One Early NLI

Huntington, W.Va. , November 24th, 2009           
Marshall University swimming and diving head coach Leonard Kraus announced the signing of Victoria Mesner to the Herd’s 2010 signing class, Tuesday afternoon.

Mesner, a native of Roanoke, Va., is a standout in the freestyle and butterfly. During her campaign at Northside High School she has registered a personal-best time of 58.02 in the 100 butterfly and 57.25 in the 100 freestyle. In the 200 butterfly she has tallied a best time of 1:58.32.

Along with swimming for NHS, she takes the water for the Virginia Gators club team, under the direction of Greg Lake.

“Victoria comes from a strong club with great coaching,” said Kraus. “I look forward to Victoria helping both our distance group, as well as our fly discipline.”

Mesner also competes in the 400/500 freestyle (4:33.32/5:06.22), 800/1000 freestyle (9:23.51/10:26.66), 1500/1650 freestyle (17:48.17/17:37.70), 100/200 backstroke (1:03.40/2:17.36), and the 200 breaststroke (2:06.56).
