Six races were won by the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team Friday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center but the Irish were ousted by host Purdue, 121-179. Both Samantha Maxwell and Katie Casey shelved a pair of individual victories for Notre Dame.
The Irish (0-2) return to the pool Nov. 20-22 at Indiana’s Hoosierland Invite.

400 Medley Relay: Notre Dame earned first-place points behind the efforts of Kim Holden, Samantha Maxwell, Katie Casey and Amywren Miller … they finished in 3:45.86.
1,000 Free: Gracie Fredlake (10:17.38) was second with Jaime Malandra (10:18.27) touching third … fourth-place went to Ashlee Edgell (10:20.60).
200 Free: Megan Farrell (1:51.99), who placed fourth, was Notre Dame’s highest finisher.
100 Back: Holden (56.78) was second and Keri Masterson (59.50) took fourth.
100 Breast: Maxwell flexed over the field and took the gold in 1:02.72.
200 Fly: The Irish won their second straight race as Casey outlasted the field in 2:02.70.
50 Free: Miller (23.37) was second as Lauren Scott (24.07) wrapped up the race in fourth.
100 Free: Miller followed up with a third-place showing in 51.67.
200 Back: Holden surged ahead of the competition and finished first in 2:01.80 … Farrell (2:05.71) was third.
200 Breast: Maxwell’s second individual win was posted after going 2:18.48 … Edgell (2:24.25) placed third.
500 Free: Fredlake (5:02.30) and Malandra (5:04.99) finished second and third, respectively.
100 Fly: Casey added another feather to her cap after taking first in 56.12 … Scott (56.66) earned the bronze.
200 Individual Medley: Farrell led the Irish with a second-place showing in 2:07.17 … behind her were teammates Emily Barton (2:08.84) and Zeina Shanata (2:10.20).
400 Free Relay: Amy Prestinario, Scott, Holden and Miller held on for a second-place performance in 3:30.02.
1-meter Diving: Heidi Grossman (271.13) scored third-place points for the Irish.
3-meter Diving: Grossman (283.20) and Jenny Chiang (267.60) finished in the third and fourth spots, respectively.
John Lytle and Petar Petrovic both earned a pair of first-place finishes but the Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving team fell by a 105-195 margin to Purdue at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center on Friday.
Notre Dame (3-1) hits the water again in one week with a dual meet at Pittsburgh (Nov. 13). The meet begins at 4:30 p.m. (ET).

400 Medley Relay: Notre Dame’s ‘B’ squad was third in 1:33.82 … that group consisted of Kevin Overholt, Bill Bass, MacKenzie LeBlanc and Joshua Nosal.
1,650 Free: Michael Sullivan (15:57.87) was fourth overall.
200 Free: John Lytle took first in 1:40.32 while Andrew Hoffman (1:41.34) was fourth.
100 Back: Petrovic won the first of his two races in 50.33.
100 Breast: Notre Dame’s highest finisher was Christopher Johnson, who was third in 57.57.
200 Fly: LeBlanc (1:51.72) was second, just one spot ahead of Wesley Mullins (1:54.30).
50 Free: Overholt (21.09) was third while Nosal earned points with a six-place finish in 21.63.
100 Free: Lytle’s second win came in 45.75 … Hoffman was two spots behind after going 46.60.
200 Back: Petrovic touched first in 1:51.27 … Sullivan was a close second in 1:51.40.
200 Breast: P.J. Koppel was third with a 2:09.01.
500 Free: Ryan Belecanech paced the Irish with a fourth-place showing in 4:42.54.
100 Fly: LeBlanc (50.94) was fifth and Bass (51.52) was sixth overall.
400 Individual Medley: Sullivan (4:03.84) was second in the final individual race of the night.
200 Free Relay: The relay squad of Lytle, Overholt, Nosal and Hoffman brought home the gold in 1:22.98.
1-meter Diving: Caleb Dunnichay was the highest finishing Irish diver … he was third with 310.58 points.
3-meter Diving: A fifth-place showing by Dunnichay (303.68) was Notre Dame’s best in the event.
