Hersey, Clary & Racz Earn National Swimmers

Kathleen Hersey, University of Texas
Hersey (Roswell, GA)
had three wins to help her team win the Big Twelve Conference
Championships. The freshman won the 200 individual medley (1:55.29,
NCAA "A" time, school, pool, meet and Big Twelve records), the 400
individual medley (4:07.76, NCAA "B" time, meet and pool record) and
the 200 backstroke (1:52.58, NCAA "A" time, meet, pool, school and Big
Twelve records). Hersey also assisted on the winning 200 medley relay
(1:37.40, NCAA "A" time, school and Big Twelve records), the winning
800 freestyle relay (6:58.37, NCAA "A" time, school and Big Twelve
records), the winning 400 medley relay (3:33.92, NCAA "B" time, meet
and pool records) and the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:13.62, NCAA
"A" time, meet record).
Division I Men
Tyler Clary, University of Michigan
Clary (Riverside, CA)
had three wins to help his team win the Big Ten Conference
Championships. The Sophomore won the 200 individual medley (1:43.23,
NCAA "A" time, pool and Big Ten records), the 400 individual medley
(3:38.03, NCAA "A" time, pool , Big Ten and NCAA records) and the 200
backstroke (1:39.59, NCAA "A" time, pool and school record). Clary
also assisted on the winning 800 freestyle relay (6:16.39, NCAA "A"
time, Big Ten and Pool records).
Division III Men
Rastislav Racz, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Racz (Bratislava, Slovakia)
had two wins to help his team win the New England Women's and Men's
Athletic Conference Championships. The junior won the 100 breaststroke
(54.99, NCAA "A" time, meet, pool and open records) and the 200
breaststroke (2:03.77, NCAA "B" time, meet and pool records). Racz
also assisted on the winning 400 medley relay (3:21.14, NCAA "B" time,
meet, pool and open records) and the winning 200 medley relay (1:32.45,
NCAA "B" time, 1:31.41 preliminaries, NCAA "A" time , meet, pool and
open records).
