Michigan State Adds Loeffler
East Lansing, MI , July 8th, 2009

The 'M' on the ballcap will still be there - but now it will be with a green, not maroon background. MSU swimming and diving head coach Matt Gianiodis announced today that Tim Loeffler has joined the Spartan staff as an assistant coach. Loeffler comes to MSU from the University of Minnesota where he was a two-time letterwinner and as well as a student assistant coach.
"Tim comes from a great program where he has had tremendous Big Ten experience," said Gianiodis. "He did an excellent job at Minnesota and was a part of several successful teams as a swimmer and as a coach. We are excited about him joining the Spartan swimming family and are looking forward to this fall."
Loeffler was a member of the Gophers' 2005 Big Ten Championship team and holds two top-20 times in Minnesota history in the 1,000 and 1,650 freestyle. He later served as a student assistant coach for Minnesota from 2007-09.
